Installation Instructions for LinuxRequirementsIn order to start the Bibster system you will need a Java platform
on your system. The application was compiled and tested using a
JDK 1.4.
Install the systemAfter downloading simply unzip and untar the file to a directory of your choice. Currently, there is no Installation Wizard available for the Linux version. Starting BbsterNow please start the Bibster application by executing the start.sh in your installation directory:
ConfigurationThe first time you start Bibster, you have to configure the network settings. A "JXTA configurator" will appear (figure 3). Just enter a peer id (e.g. your name or alias) and press the "Okay" button. If your firewall blocks TCP connections (Port 9701) please select "My firewall blocks outgoing TCP connections". Note: If you encounter the problem that you are not able to enter a peer name longer than one character, this may be because this character is selected. You have to unselect it, before you are able to enter more characters.
Your Bibster client is now configured. Please click on the "OK" button. |
